Hi,

I'm looking for a decent IMAP server, has anyone used one they are really happy with?

I'm currently using Cyrus IMAP, but to be honest, it's a bit of an overkill for 4 users Wink

I've tried uw-imap, but folders / sub-mailboxes don't work as id like Confused

Has anyone had any experience with others?

If it takes 2 men a week to walk a fortnight, how long does it take a cross-eyed kipper to swim through a barrel of treacle?

Try Exim... I've ran it for a year or so on a hosting company i own, and never had any problems. Easy configuration, stable, quick enough imho. =P

I thought Exim was only an MTA, for sending / receiving SMTP emails... (like postfix, sendmail, etc), i didn't think it did the IMAP / POP3 thing.

I will check it out... Thanks

Richard

exim is only an MTA unless theyve very recently added an IMAP server to it which they havnt as far as im aware.

i use courier imap(6 users) and have had no problems with it but like cyrus its a bit of overkill. this url seems to list alot of choices but i dont have any personal experience with them.

quote from fortune the other day - "science is to computer science what hydrodynamics is to plumbing"

no offence intended, just thought it was a funny quote

Well, I finally put Courier on the box... I'm impressed! it's a lot easier to look after than Cyrus... and folders work! excellent!

Regards

Richard
